I know it's not a straight forward vote and they've got the Assembly votes as well to count but considering some areas can get a general election count in within the hour of polls closing you'd think London could managed to count up their votes in less than 12 hours!

The delay is mainly because 2 boxes of ballot papers have been found, so they've got to start counting them from scratch.

Tim just said we should have a result in... ready for this, brace yourself - 7 minutes. We'll have to wait and see.

If it does run over, I take it the News channel will continue to roll after midnight and not join World until the result has been announced, for example 1am.

Just said on the BBC that the results are known and that the final arrangements are being put into place.

A few minutes ago there was a tannoy announcement asking candidates to go to a committee room. (Which they said had happened 10 minutes previous)
