Hi there
Congratulations to all who did well in their A-levels today

BBC breakfast had people opening their results live. did gmtv? I wonder if anyone will open their results live on the bbc or itv lunchtime news

Does anyone know if there is a website where you can check your results if you can't get to the results centre at your local sixth form. if not do they post the results too you in a couple of days

Did anyone get good A-level results they want to share with us?

Thanks Dave

Well I got two B's and two D's...

I'm a bit disappointed in the D's - I.T. and General Studies. Saying that, we rushed through the General Studies course last year and had to miss half of the lessons due to teachers being away etc.

And in IT our teacher left half-way through the year leaving us with a mish-mash of remaining teaching staff.

But my B's are brilliant for me and I'm really pleased - Media and Business.

Yay. And I got a bottle of Champagne at work today Cool

I hate this pointless gimmick that is shown by all the news organisations every year. Does anyone seriously think the pupils are opening their results envelope for the first time when on the air? The fact that most of the time the pupils featured get straight A's suggests that they are the exceptionally bright kids the colleges have specifically earmarked just to make the college look good.

I'm pleased for all who did well, but why was their hardly any publicity for the Higher and Standard Grade results last week. I got 3 A's. I would have thought that they could have at least got some sort of report on the national news, but they were just mentioned in brief. Anyway, don't want to change the purpose of the thread.

Central News and Tom Parmenter were at my college today (Stoke 6th Form) when everyone came to get their results. There was an OB unit with satellite uplink, with one camera linked directy up to it, and another camcorder with some cameramen. I think they interviewed one of our star pupils live on the midmorning bulletin..

Very Happy 2As and 2Bs for me- woo!
