Laptops - Why?

This talk of the N24 desk has made me notice how awful it is.

Why not?! Am I missing the point here?

Yeah - BBC Worlds is certainly much better - is it by any chance the same as the desk in the Washington set?

The point I've been wondering is why... everyone is starting to use laptops instead of the computers built into the desk.

And I also like papers on the desk, I like keyboard's too, I just don't like the laptops sticking up. I wouldn't even mind the note book style laptop so that they could be placed onto the desk.
As it is they may as well use a normal computer with a LCD screen.
