Does it matter? He thinks he's dreadful, you don't.
Actually I haven't given my view. He was challenged on it and came up with a waste of space answer. I don't see the point of conversations on a community forum if those who post their views do not give reasons why they feel that way. If I said to you "the BBC is the most biased news organisation in Britain", most on this forum would expect me to justify my comment.
The BBC released details of its coverage for the Commonwealth Games a few weeks ago and Huw Edwards is slated to anchor and commentate at the Opening Ceremony; it wouldn't surprise me if a) he was having a few days off before flying to India, or b) was already in India in preparation. If I can go off-topic briefly, when the announcement was made, I did question the necessity of Edwards being sent to Delhi - it was understandable perhaps for the Olympics in Beijing. In light of recent events, re. the Athlete's Village, it's perhaps a shrewd move to have him on the scene.
On-topic: I completely agree with you House. Revitt posted a comment which had nothing substantive to support it. Although it expressed an opinion, it didn't tell us what formed that opinion. No offence, Revitt, but that's the sort of post expected of ginofish.

Well I do apologise.
If I'd have thought for a minute anyone on here was going to get wound up by my comment I would have given a reason. In my opinion, I don't think he's a very good presenter- the main reason being, amongst others, that he constantly looks at his script every 5 seconds, even on the news. I find him extremely irritating and I long stopped watching special programmes which he presents - though I can just about bare him on the news. I just think there are better presenters.

And that's fair enough. I just wondered what made you have that view.
I know were off topic but I find it really different and interesting when he looks at his script. He has perfected it. Many other news presenters have tried it and have failed miserably.
