A memorial service celebrating the life of Komla Dumor will take place tomorrow, 1st February, in London. St. Martin-in-the-Fields at 11am.

Presumably one reason for the selection of that church is its close proximity to the South African embassy.

St. Martin-in-the-Fields is traditionally associated with the media, more recently broadcast media. I suspect the choice reflects this and it's central location. It has a history of co-operation and working with the BBC over the last 90 years too.

Indeed. Sir Alastair Burnet's memorial service was also held at St. Martins.
