Very fitting tribute to Komlar with Naga, Sally and Jonathan Charles (in for the paper review). Paper review cut short to pay tribute to him and very fitting tribute earlier in the hour with Sally and Naga at the desk.

Jeepers. It was a real surprise to hear the distressing news only today.

I have seem on a few videos on youtube a few weeks ago and thought he was a nice presenter even though I never had the WN channel on my own TV. It would have been worth it to see him alone presenting his programme. To die at 41 years old is just heart-breaking for anyone to contemplate.

My sincere condolences to his family.

Nice tribute from the Mandella family means that his death is still able to remain on the World News bulletins for the day. The BBC Two similcast finished with the still image of him with his years of birth and death. Very nice and dignified way to end the bulletin.

I think I saw that on a "blog" that has no source or citation... i saw that the blog mentioned that it was posted on his facebook page, but so far I've seen nothing. Any verified information about that? But i think stroke may be plausible.

I see that there's no highlights or promotion from Focus on Africa at the moment... I wonder how what will happen, especially that this is Komla's baby.

Wink With the greatest of respect, Dear Bakamann, and I apologise in advance for coming over all "bossy", but it's a little improper to be talking about Komla's possible "health conditions" here in public. It's none of our business, really.

Now, let's remember the great booming baritone legend that he was............

I understand, but I just questioned the earlier post. I highly doubt they will reveal anyways, considering that the BBC is respectful of privacy.

Anyways, it was just announced by Karin Giannone on Impact that there will be a special Focus on Africa tonight on BBC World News..

It was a really touching programme to watch - bits of news, but largely and rightly so, many tributes from many people, most significantly his BBC colleagues in both NBH and in Africa.

It was a very good decision to have Sophie and Peter present together, adding an extra poignancy and sense of commemoration.

I've just seen my recording now it was a wonderfully put together tribute to a man who did exceptionally well and would have gone on to even greater success, its very sad really, very sad.
