Am shocked to see this myself. Always enjoyed watching him on air. He had a unique style that I warmed to and found myself watching him more often in recent times. As a by the way, he was always immaculately turned out on air and presented himself in attire that matched his presentation style - professional, sharp and interesting.

Very sudden and unfortunate news from today’s events. Thoughts are with the family.

Some of Komla's work, including coverage of Nelson Mandela's death, an interview with Bill Clinton, and of the new king in the Netherlands.

Such sad news. His warmth, professionalism and witting nature made him one of the best African-born International Journalists of his generation. His gravitas and attention grabbing presentation style will be greatly missed.

One of a kind. RIP.

Daniella and Lyse are clearly a bit upset.

Am shocked at the news- I thought he was a very good presenter- friendly and knowledgable- I have for several years hoped that he would one day move onto the news channel-national bulletins- would have been a worthy presenter with great gravitas - such sad news

Like everyone else here, I am completely shocked to hear of Komla's death. What a tragic waste of talent.

Just watching BBC World at the top of the hour - Daniela Ritorto visibly tearful when reading the link into Komla's obituary. Now Lyse Doucet is giving her thoughts, also visibly emotional. The first time in 14 years of watching BBC World I have ever seen Lyse with tears in her eyes.

Very shocked to hear this news. Komla was a fantastic journalist, who loved what he did. Condolences to his friends and family at this time.

Tribute now on the News channel. Gavin Grey clearly a little emotional leading into the piece. Lyse Doucet now on the News channel talking about her memories.

Well, this is a shock. Such, sad, sad news. Komla was one of World News's finest, if not the finest.
London Lite and harshy gave kudos
