I've just heard the news via Facebook, and I'm completely stunned. The outpouring of condolences on Twitter says a lot about the popularity of him. 41 is just no age at all - what a legend of BBC broadcasting.

Komla was a beacon for Africans and for African news for a world audience. An incredible professional, likeable and forever smiling presenter and journalist. I will miss him on the BBC. My thoughts are with his family.
