We have the sense not to show the video, but why do those sick idiots on Iraqi TV show it?

Abu Dhabi television said it had the tape but would not broadcast it, refusing to serve as a "mouthpiece" for one of many groups that have severely restricted movement by foreigners in Iraq and hampered U.S.-led efforts to rebuild infrastructure.

I have to agree. It was quite shocking how on last nights ITV news, the top story was Ken Bigleys death, and then when they said "and now other news" they then mentioned the terrorist bombing at a hotel in Egypt which killed many people, which i think is a bit sick.

To be honest, and I know Ken Bigley died in an atrocious way -- not to mention his family's ordeal -- I feel that too much focus has been placed on one person.
There are MILLIONS of people dying in even worse ways -- starvation, for instance -- and I feel that the situation has gotten out of proportion: for a whole country, practically, to go into mourning over one person, is, I think, unrealistic.
That said, I do believe that what this group has done is truly sickening, and I truly feel for his family.

An eye for an eye, then?
Together with America, we killed 13,000+ innocent Iraqi civilians, many of whom were babies and children. While nothing can justify the appalling murder of Mr Bigley, I would argue that his killers are hardly in the same league as Bush and Blair when it comes to carrying out atrocities.
The key difference is that Bush and Blair are not setting out to deliberately kill innocent people. They are setting out to rid Iraq of the insurgents who are themselves deliberately killing innocent Iraqi men, women and children as well as the American and British security forces. But didn't thousands, maybe millions, die under the regime of Saddam Hussein? Sometimes people have to die to save many more, that's a fact of life in war, no matter how uncomfortable a truth that is.
I don't recall Bush or Blair or any of the people that work under their orders in Iraq holding a knife to anyones neck and beheading them as happened to Ken Bigley and many others in Iraq.

No.
well said fusion...
Isn't this forum supposed to discuss how TV channels do things...
If I want a chat about the rights or wrongs of what happens in Iraq, I certainly wouldn't come to a "TV Forum"...

Hi can someone please help me. I am in France and trying to view the News 24 stream, BUT Broadband is not available to us here. There is however a way of viewing it, by obtaining the URl to the link, can someone please post the URL, visible when playing in the real player, and not in the window that pops up at bbc.co.uk. Thanks so much

Just to highlight CDD's post, I am truly sickened to the gut by Ken Bigley's murder, I'm afraid guy's but matters of equal importance (not reflected in the National news AFAIK) are happening, A fourteen year old girl was killed in Nottingham last night apparantly killed in 'crossfire' allegegly the girl was just returning home from the Nottingham Goose fair (local event) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/nottinghamshire/3728996.stm

Well that is just hurtful Fusion lad
Don't be so bloody stupid. Of course I sympathise with Ken Bigley's death, and feel as bad as most for what has happened. But to open up a thread of condolences on Tv Forum is pointless and of no interest to anyone but you here.
