Yes I was watching the ITV Lunchtime News and noticed that everything seemed a bit odd - msut have been getting ready to break that breaking news.
Just after the break at 12:43 Nicholas Owen crossed live to Angus Walker in Downing Street for more information. There was supposed to then be an indepth report from Chris Choi about the UK public buying alcohol from the rest of Europe but it seems that was chopped short to cross to the regions then!
Nicholas Owen has now been joined by Leyla Daybelge on the ITV News Channel from 1pm - usually Nic presents this hour by himself.
There have been alot of interviews so far, Angus Walker in Downing Street, Paul Davies outside the Foreign Office in London and now live to Liverpool outside the Bigley house (Granada reporter)
Loads of interviews via the phone with a variety of people!
The only thing that annoyed me was the Midsomer Murder promotion just before 1pm - slightly in poor taste!
PS there was a nod to Kill Bill with someone whistling outside the Foreign Office - a person was continually whistling in the background on reports on ITVNC AND SKY¦News - made it quite spooky!
*EDIT 13:25*
A guest in the studio now, Sue Saville is acting as a third presenter on this story by appearing in the ITV News Room giving updates and back to Liverpool but with ITV's Emma Murphy now.
Sky have many correspondents reporting the story:
David Chater is outside the Foreign office, Dominic Waghorn in Bangkok, Paul Harrison outside the Bigley home in Liverpool and Graham Leach in Downing ST.
It's terrible news if it's true. Condolences to the family and all concerned. Let's hope that the media handles it sensitively and not with tabloid tact.

Just got back from work and put Sky on, saw the strap and had goose pipples all over my body, so so sad if true.
