Kay Burley off air for 6 months

Yeah. Her tweeting just makes it worse. All it does is keeps her trending negatively in the headlines and encourages more negative comments from the public.
She should be keeping her thoughts private. The tweeted apology was ludicrous and uncalled for - it wasn't the full story and was sloppily written, just leaving people asking more questions and encouraging speculation.
She needs to quieten down, especially while the company's HR investigation is going on.
And the Mail's headline of her 'battling for her career' - she shouldn't have been so stupid in the first place, especially considering her high profile job. Goes for her colleagues too.

You can't win in these situations though - say nothing and you get accused of refusing to apologise. And generally if you do apologise you're accused of being insincere and apologising because you have to, not because you're sorry.

What a ridiculous situation. A suspension is fine but firing anyone over this would be madness, especially when it's their biggest name plus a few other established people.

Then again, we've seen so many media people lose jobs over silly stuff, nothing would surprise me anymore.....

Let's not get ahead of ourselves - Kay has been, evidently, taken off air for this week. She'll be off air next week and the week after too, but that, as she Tweeted last night, was planned holiday leave anyway. I'd say it'll be a while until Sky concludes its internal investigation, and then a decision will probably be made as to whether she'll stay or go.

The Daily Mail is now reporting that Rigby and Washington may be 'in the clear', as they didn't go back to Burley's house with the others for the after-party.

I suspect Kay is getting expensive and this will be a good excuse to get rid of her.

She used to be pretty good (talking 15-20 years ago) in the Bob Friend days, unwatchable now.

If you look at Sky News over the last few years they have been slowly getting rid over their older more expensive talent, not a lot of it left now.

She only started on breakfast a year ago - not really sure that's a sign of being pushed out.

Kay is on the Boxing Day edition of The Chase so that's likely to be her next TV appearance.
