I couldn't possibly think what motivation they'd have for concentrating on the story.
Yes, she was stupid, she was wrong - though on the scale of some other issues this is a fairly minor infraction. What worries me is as a society we seem to hold journalists, actors, musicians and anyone else in the public eye to a higher standard than we seem to hold politicians now.

utterly embarrassing for everyone involved. And somehow even more embarrassing for Beth than Kay, as she is supposed to be even more unimpeachable in her role, whereas Kay has had scrapes like this before and survived.
Based on the recent Rita Ora and Melanie Sykes cases, I can’t see the police getting involved. I suspect the Sky/Comcast bosses just hope it’ll go away, and it probably will.
And I agree. It does slightly undermine Piers. He never commented on another Guido story featuring him a few months ago.
The only part of the Guido and Guardian claims about Burley that would definitely be against the law would be if the group of four (assuming none lived with her or were in a support bubble) stepped foot in her home for social reasons. Having two separate tables, provided you didn’t mingle, is lawful. As long as they went to the second venue for food, that also wouldn’t be unlawful (and I believe the post-10pm rules regulate the conduct of the venue, rather than impose rules on its customers per se).
The appearance of rule breaking puts her and her colleagues in a difficult position, but from the reported evidence it’s a little premature to declare she absolutely broke the law.

Absolutely - and a gross invasion of privacy too. The vaccine stuff has really annoyed me over the last week on the news channel - just retreading the same ground constantly and actually not making viewers any more informed.
Re: Piers and Kay. It's up to him who he passes judgement on and after all if in the unlikely event Kay did get sacked she'd probably end up guest hosting GMB at some point in the next year. Moving away from Kay and to GMB though getting tired now of all their adverts beginning by stating how long it is since they last interviews a government minister.
Someone posted earlier in this thread that Sky has already said Sarah Hewson will be doing Kay's hours tomorrow - and Hancock is a guest!
Kay’s obviously the most high profile person and will bare the brunt of the backlash somewhat unfairly.
Not sure how it is unfair? She had 4 people from different households back to her house after the 2nd restaurant visit according to the Guardian.She knew what she was doing.
Yes sorry I had forgot that aspect of the story. If she’s not disputing that she had people around to her house (the other five people unnamed aren’t her support bubble?), then you’re right, it’s a clear breach and quite rightly should face scrutiny for that.
My point was, people will be forgiven for never even hearing of Sam Washington or Inzamam Rashid before today’s news (neither are particularly high profile at Sky) so it wouldn’t be fair for those two to get an easier ride than say Beth Rigby who is perhaps more widely known, as the Pol Ed role immediately gives you a higher profile.

Quite odd there is no mention of this story on the broadcast news, when they reported on the Rita Ora story. It doesn’t help the case for ‘Mainstream media’ that has had lots of criticism from some people over recent months.
I’m hoping Beth appears at the next conference so the likes of JVT can throw shade at her about everyone following the rule

On the main news we had the first ever needle, then a round up of Scottish, Welsh and Northern Irish needles, and then when the regional news came on, there was footage of a regional needle going in a regional arm!

Ha ! I had given up by 1:15pm, and switched off the telly. Thanks for the warning, I'll give the first half of tonight's South Today a miss I think
Keep in mind this is just the Pfizer vaccine, if more vaccines are approved in the next few months then there will be clips of each and every one of them being jabbed into peoples arms
