I think you need to look at it in context. Its a different situation between somebody who works in an office and the presenter in question. The latter is one of the public faces of a major news organisation/outlet who's job it is to hammer home the entire "don't do this that and the other" thing to anybody who watches, and said presenters then goes and does the opposite anyway. That makes their position untenable to an extent at least in the short term. The office worker would probably get away with a written warning and assuming they don't infect the entire office that may be the end of the matter for them.
If you're in the public eye, then it could be argued you have more responsibility to behave appropriately outside of work, and if you don't then expect to get dragged over the coals as it were. We've seen this a few times over with various high profile celebrities over the years who have fallen from grace for one reason or another.
