Wow. Those '' whistle-blowers'' are the ones who should be sacked. To create such a conspiracy against your colleagues and hurt the reputation of the whole channel is just unforgiving.

It does seem to be a very 'Sky' way of causing harm to colleagues you do not like.

Does remind me a little bit of the Richard Keys/Andy Gray situation at Sky Sports.

Yes, everybody concerned had definitely done something that they shouldn't have done... But you can go to the editor or HR and complain... Or you can leak internal video (or hire a snapper in this case) and give the product of your little conspiricy to a competing media company.

Jeremy Vine retweeted an image of the Mail on Sunday article about this, which suggests Kay Burley likely won't return to the breakfast slot - a relief, apparently, because it rated poorly.

Didn’t that happen to Richard Keys though someone recorded the feed in the OB gallery and made it to the public, must be people in there recording everything...

I expect if the whistleblowers had gone to Ryley or HR with dirt on the Queen Bee of Sky News, she'd still be on air now and it would have been covered up. What they did was the only option to get a result.

I still think with the apology Tweet being proved to be an outright lie, Burley has got off lightly. Perhaps Sky will now do another review?

So it's gonna be a milder version of NBC-Megyn Kelly situation.

What result though? Getting Burley sanctioned because they don’t like her?

Not sure I buy the "junior production staff" line in the MoS. That could easily be a decoy.

Junior staff tend not to rock the boat, and this could easily end their careers if it backfired on them. Media Guido have also disputed the MoS story as it pertains to them.

Whether Sky colleagues snitched on Kay or not, the fact was she broke the lockdown rules. Kay has damaged her own credibility and brought her employer into disrepute for something that could easily have been postponed for a few months.

Ultimately, nobody is untouchable nor bigger than an organisation.

I notice Chris Ship went out of his way not to mention Kay Burley by name tonight on the ITV Evening News

Referring to a possible breach by Princess Beatrice he said “There has been a lot of high profile breaches of Covid rules recently, the singer Rita Ora and a Sky news presenter...”

I dont think people outside this forum or who follow news a lot will know her by name to be honest, Not that famous.

Although she probably is the most high profile person on Sky News, however I’m guessing that they thought ‘Sky News Presenter’ was enough. Although I would have added in her name in that script, unless a deliberate attempt to avoid.

Given how viral clips of her on Sky News can go (both for good and bad reasons), I doubt she wasn't named because people wouldn't know who she is. This isn't some low-profile reporter we're talking about.

I know she divides opinions, but I think six months is quite harsh
