Not particularly new. It just been spruced up I think. Also they've dropped the CNN. Instead of being called CNN Headline News. it's now Headline News a CNN Network. Reminiscent of the 80's and 90's.
It's a pretty new set - only a couple of months old.
The old circular studio was long overdue a revamp because it was designed for the 2001 relaunch - which involved sports, business and showbiz anchors sitting at their own desks around the clockface, in addition to the main anchor desk. After they dropped that format, the studio just looked big and empty.
They were in a small temporary studio for a while. Now the new set has a separate desk and sofa area for the breakfast show.
