Having a bad-driving good-looking PR-caster like Silverton who so far hasn't even been asked to appear on Strictly Come Dancing or Nuts TV is an ample demonstration of the Beeb's slipping standards.

I don't have a degree in English, but I know that a pole is a long stick, a Pole is a customer from Poland who buys things in my shop (we've had leaflets made in Polish and everything!) but a Poll is what we are being asked to respond to on this thread.

He's just being ironic - he's aware that he made the spelling error and was having a laugh at himself by hinting that he has an English degree.

I DO have a English Language and Lingustics degree!

2.1 from Sheffield University in 1996. You know, in the days when degrees were actually worth the paper they're written on.

Very. Especially as Sanderson, not Silverton isn't Sanderson anymore. Both women would make excellent presenters on Nuts TV and I hope they get the chance to join this venerable tv channel.
