JADE GOODY DIES IN HER SLEEP

Jade Goody died in her sleep today, her publicist Max Clifford said.
The reality TV star, who suffered a public battle with cervical cancer, died at her home in Upshire, Essex, at 3.14am on Mother's Day.
Goody's mother Jackiey Budden said: "My beautiful daughter is at peace."

BBC running it as top story for some reason. That appears to be a 5 minute VT for it followed by an interview with Max Clifford. With a Breaking News strap.

And the "right on the money" award goes to... Brekkie! From earlier in this thread:

Exactly. When Wendy Richard died it was dealt with appropriately - one story at the end of a bulletin, with a similar level of coverage on the news channels. We all know when Jade Goody, who has contributed far less too British society, dies it'll be treated as top story material.

BBC N24 have been massively inconsistent this morning in their Jade coverage.

They seemingly now seem interested in the story. But before 0900 they'd hardly bothered...showing 'Click' for instance; even breaking the story ages after Sky and others had announced it.

BBC N24 is only "reactive" in that it reacts to what Sky News are doing. It clearly thought it was above the story (and Jade).

Well, considering the uproar caused in India by Jade Goody, I haven't seen any information about her death on the Indian news channel NDTV... it seems they're currently more interested in talking about the Indian Premier League cricket.

(EDIT: Although, checking their website, it is mentioned on there).

John McCririck now on Sky News.

Personally, I'd be quite happy if they'd stayed that way. I personally don't believe it warrants 'top of the news' status.

I wonder if we can expect schedule changes later on Living TV or Channel 4...? They seem to be running as normal at present.

I was hoping she would rest in a washing machine, but, whatever.
