I spose livingtv and ok will have the rights to the embalming process on her ( or whatever it is they do in those funeral parlours).

Anyone seen the ads for OK! tonight? I think whatever your stance on this story (and it's the story, not the victim, I have the issue with), it's pretty despicable to release a tribute issue before she's even died with phrases such as "In Loving Memory", "1981-2009" and "Final Words".

Are magazines regulated in the same way as newspapers?

Shameless way to shift their trash off the shelves.
They say ' Her final words' at the bottom; anyone would have thought the inevitable had already happened.

I hate to say it, but I can't help wondering if OK took a punt on the inevitable having already happened by the time this issue hit the shelves...?

That is exactly what happened. She was told (I think) just before the weekend that she had 'hours' to live... then we were all told next time she goes to sleep, that would be her passing away.

Turns out both those haven't happened and 2 days later, she's still alive.

I don't think it was intentional in any way, perhaps being a bit too clever which has now embarassed them, but in a way, everyone talking about it will buy the magazine to see it.

Presumably because they wanted their "tribute" issue to be available a few days before, rather than a fortnight after, the inevitable happens?

Sorry to bring this up again - most of you couldn't care less I know (though thanks to those who have shown support) but someone needs putting in their place - and before they accuse me of posting things as fact, they should check their own posts.

Me - circa 13,788. You, circa 5646. Check your facts - and stop contradicting yourself, one minute moaning I post too much, the next complaining I don't respond to your pathetic challenges. I couldn't care less about my post count - unlike yourself I don't think my presence here over the years gives me the right to act as if I own the place.

I've bit my tongue (metaphorically speaking - I don't want you accusing me of that being fact now, do I?) on an almost daily basis over the last few weeks, not just ignoring your petty pickings, but also avoiding posting subjects I think the forum would be interested in as I just can't be arsed with you (and those that assume they're your cronies!) going through my posts with a fine tooth comb.

Again, stop acting like you're a martyr of free speech. When you have an opinion, you are bound to have it challenged - that's the whole principle of a democracy, ffs.

Nitpicking, Gavin said the "next most prolific member". Note "prolific", not "active". No doubt he was being modest but I too wonder who he was referring to?

By all means post topics the forum may be interested in. Just be prepared to back up your arguments if they're challenged! It's not about going through your posts with a fine tooth-comb, it's about basic level of argument on an internet discussion forum (note the last two words).

The basic principle of argument is that by being challenged over your opinions, you are encouraged to back them up thus meaning that you hold them even stronger (forgive me, I forget which theorist that was - I did Political Theory last year).

Please don't stop posting, just remember to back your arguments up and I'm sure we'll all get along fine! It's not too hard, and will certainly eradicate any backbiting or infighting there is.

Can we perhaps stop arguing about boring things and talk about a boring woman instead? Kthx.

I wonder if Jade's reading that OK tribute magazine in her hospital bed right now. It must be extremely strange to read your own obituary, I'd feel like I was a ghost looking in on life after death.

I'm guessing they're printing her obituary issue now rather than after her death to avoid the inevitable 'Oh so you're making money out of her death by selling an entire issue about her when she dies' type comments. I know that sounds stupid considering that's what they've been doing for the last few months, but you know it would happen that way.

I understand that 'OK' isn't renowned for its journalism, but it all rings rather hollow when you announce the 'World Exclusive' of someone's 'final words' before they've actually uttered them.

I assume that Mrs Tweed isn't mute at present, so perhaps she's under contract to follow the script accurately with her dying breath.

No doubt 'OK' have a stonemason permanently camped in their offices, chisel in hand, just ready to complete the date on the headstone for the next front cover.
