I'm not "sick of it", no.
If anything I'm still a wee bit shocked at this ghastly turn of events. I've said my piece before, many times, about Jade - but this is something I wouldn't wish on anyone in the world.
She is, bizarrely, the first lady of the "Heat" generation - and she's dying before our very eyes. She's the girl who turned "East Angular" into a £15M fortune, and did it by living a life entirely in the media, and now she'll die the same way.
One thing is clear - her story will be over soon, so this won't run forever. In a ghoulish way we're probably all waiting to hear what happens as it happens - but in doing so we're paying for a legacy for her children.
Its quite the strangest thing to witness.
I hope she's comfortable, and at peace; and I hope her kids get through this ok.

It's difficult to feel sympathy for the person when Jade Goody PLC is shoved in our faces.
It was bad enough with George Best a few years ago when IIRC his death was announced in the back of shot on Sky News via a throat-cutting motion, but this looks set to be even worse. I also don't like how her past misdemeanour's are being forgotten because of her predicament - a few months ago most TV companies wouldn't touch her.
As with all such stories though when it comes to the news it's how it's treated which probably determines if it's overkill or not. As sick as I may be of the story it probably warrants a place on the news agenda - but lower down the running order. It's certainly not top story material, even when the day comes that she dies.

Don't get me wrong I do agree with most of what you're saying, and I suppose it is quite weird for those of us who watch Big Brother (or at least watched it in 2002 and 2007) to see the decline of such a big figure. I think the odd thing should make the news, but I don't think we should be given a 5 minute in depth update of her day to day goings on, complete with the same introduction to who she is and what she has done. I understand that the story will be of interest to many, but in TV news it should be reported in a way that isn't overkill and in a way that she is a saint.
Its quite odd and ironic how this is happening to the biggest person to ever come from a reality TV show in the UK just as the life span of Big Brother and the wannabe is coming to an end.

It gives a somewhat eerie twist on the phrase "live by the media, die by the media".
I imagine having Max Clifford as a friend has probably ensured she's remained in the press, particularly in the past few weeks. Coverage of the recent events has at least raised awareness of the cancer and that it can affect younger people.

My feelings are mixed. On the one hand, I feel desperately sorry for her and, like Gavin said, I wouldn't wish her circumstances on any human being. I think that covering the cervical cancer aspect of the story is very important, the relevance of which has been shown in the rise in the number of women going for tests.
That said, I feel that she is getting too much media attention and it epitomises everything that is wrong with broadcasting today. Many well known people die all the time and, at most, the majority of them get a short mention or obituary report at the end of news bulletins. For instance, ITN newscaster Carol Barnes, who tragically passed away last year, only got such treatment, even by ITN. For Jade, whose only talent has been to live her life in the media spotlight and make money from it, to warrant any more coverage than that is disrespectful to other public figures who have already died. The only reason she is getting all this coverage is because she's letting the cameras in right until the end, rather than ending her life with dignity.

That kind of reads to me (I'm probably wrong) as though you're thinking "oh she's dying of cancer but she's a "racist" and should still apologise every time she's in the public eye"
'Her past misdemeanours' as you put it, have to be put behind her - she hasn't murdered anyone for goodness sake.
The thing is, she chose to live by the media and the consequences of that and Max Clifford's influence, mean she will get extensive news coverage. On the other hand (echoing what others say) it raises awareness for cancer especially for a younger generation.
I admit, I have never been Jade's biggest fan and I'm still not but all things considered, I wouldn't wish death on anyone and seeing what Jade is going through is a very sad end to her story.

Not quite what I'm going for, but I think especially in the news it's important the story is put into some context.
For example the other day we had Gordon Brown commenting on it - but the last time he was commenting on Jade Goody was when he was telling the Indian media not to worry, not all Brits are like her, while today's decision to relax Jack's curfew for the wedding night should be put into a wider context.
Are such exceptions common place, and if so, should they be for people who at the end of the day are still convicted criminals, and while they're tagged still effectively serving their sentence - and was this more about celebrity than compassion, especially considering Jack's prison officer had refused to relax his curfew?
Isn't news supposed to be about asking questions after all - not just press releases.

Indeed so, and it's good it's increased awareness of cancer amongst the younger generation. Now certainately I wouldn't wish cancer or death on anyone and indeed it's sad for Jade and her children. My problem is with the two faced-ness of the whole media, remember 2 years ago after the Celeb BB scandal? You're a this, you're a that, you're another, all against Jade, now she's dying it's all sympathy, but at the end of the day they're only selling papers.
Although it's Newsworthy, it's not THAT newsworthy, why was it 2nd/3rd headline on the ITV Evening News tonight? Even then, that was only about her wedding, which isn't until later on this weekend. As said many more high profile people (and talented ones) have died or suffered a serious illness with far less or no press attention. It can be argued that Jade Goody has spent her career in the media spotlight, but it's getting to overkill now.
Frankly I couldn't give a damn about the fella she's marrying who's curfew has been lifted for the wedding. I'm sorry to say that, but it's how I feel about the whole coverage.
As said I'm sorry to see Jade ill and I wouldn't wish it on my own worst enemy, but the coverage is really getting out of hand now.

I think you just about sum it up nwtv2003. I've always been sceptical about the coverage of this story since she was diagnosed, but when it was announced last week it was terminal naturally I felt sorry for her and her family. However, with each passing day as the story has been clinically milked for all it's worth with almost military precision any sympathy passes - especially with Max Clifford doing the rounds.
Whatever your view on the justification for selling the story and "TV rights" for the benefit of the kids, the only reason the publicist is making appearances left right and centre is for publicity. And that is where the line is crossed - both in Jade and Max exploiting the media, and the media being equally willing to exploit them.
