I hope Tyne Tees doesnt go down the road of Granada and have the tyne in the background, as much as I like the tyne, the studio will be no different to that of look north.
i agree with Mike sitting on a sofa just wont look good. with him and bob stuck on there, they will look like two book ends.

Also the new building is called 'The Watermark'

It's a development of buildings actually

Other organisations are already based in some of the buildings.

Unsurprisingly, the 2005 programme statement for Central makes mention of a new set for Central South in Abingdon coming this year.

At least it's not an industrial estate near Southampton!

Well if they really must have a sofa seat thingyo, I do hope the signing person gets to join them -- it's very rude making them stand fifty feet away or in a little box.

What to put as a backdrop mind you -- surely not Cardiff Bay. Not exactly full of attractive views Cardiff, though.

Perhaps a big dragon?

Wasn't there a flasher there the other year? I'm not sure I fancy that to be honest -- what if tv's Rhodri Morgan is on, I won't know where to look.

The castle would be nice. Mind you I'd go a hundred miles further west for the backdrop -- much prettier down there I hear.

Oh yes, I'd choose Proutshire as well, given the choice of not being in the capital.

It's not exactly scenic. "Situated in Derwenthaugh at the end of the Derwent Valley, overlooking the Tyne, the new studios enjoy views of... erm... the Vickers factory and Scotswood council estates."

The Lunchtime News had a live guest in Birmingham, but they were sat in the CN East studio with its backdrop of NOTTINGHAM...
