ITV News Channel is currently getting aired on ITV1 showing continuous coverage of the Russian Siege.

Luckily Alistair Stewart is chairing the channel's coverage and is one of the better reasons to give the channel more coverage and/or promotion on ITV1.

It appears that the ITV correspondant Julian Manyon is actually around somewhere interviewing parents of the captives missing out on all the action! ooops!

I also like the way that its billed as "Special News Bulletin" on the EPG!

Yes, just noticed its been extended to 12:30. I hope Alastair Stewart stays beyond his normal 11:45 finish time to be replaced by a Rogers or a Harvey!!!

Also I wonder if the local news will appear around mid-day sometime to give them a break or something?

i dont think, they would break this coverage for regional news.

Won't Alistair need to decamp to the CSO ? Ready for the Lunchtime News preparations ?

I guess they just won't bother with any rehearsals or pre-records for the Lunchtime News as it will be dominated by the Russian story anyway.

Alastair's just said they are about to take a pause.

Yes that is what I was also thinking! Therefore if at 12:15 they had a 3 minute advert break, followed by a ten minute regional bulletin and then another 3 minute break they could easily fill the 12:15-12:30 slot with this and then dedicate the full 30 minutes of the ITV Lunchtime news to this story?

Also BBC and ITV seem to be sharing them same feed.

BBC's feed seems to be clean whereas ITV News have used someone else's feed as you can see the red bar at the bottom which has crept in to view a few times where someone has digitally moved the picture up or down to reduce the red bar effect!
