Unnecessary duplication showbiz? Given your stance on regional ITV I'd have thought you'd have been against that sort of thing?

Let me guess.
You've never worked in television have you ?
I only ask because you seem to have an opinion on everything but knowledge of nothing.
What do you do for a living ?

of course the trick is getting your post right the first time

Especially when it comes to the use of capital letters and punctuation.
Let me guess - you're a teacher.

Complaints today in the press that ITV won't be offering signed regional news from Monday, but how many regions offered this? I know ITV Wales signed their headlines, but have never seen signed news on Granada or Central, certainly not since the end of the "news week" style programmes.

I've never seen anything like this since the end of the 90s when Tyne Tees did a full weeks news round up for the hard of hearing on a Sunday.

Granada's never had any form of BSL on their News programmes at all IIRC. They had Granada Reports Weekly as a cheap Regional filler, but no sign of BSL there.

Not that many Regions do so, I remember seeing it on an afternoon edition of Midlands Today, even though that's the BBC.

Meridian had a signed news roundup in the Sunday bulletin (until recently, at least).

Westcountry always had signed headlines (until yesterday!) and BBC Newsline still do them - complete with a thumbs up at the end!

With Tyne Tees owning signpost you'd think they'd have more signed stuff on.

Peter Wareham 'signed off' as Westcountry's senior signer on Thursday after 25 years. He was actually the main presenter of The South West Week during TSW's later days, and was one of only a handful of presenters to carry straight over to Westcountry.

Although they seem to sign the North East News via that website.

So, could we see some tweaks to Regional News as of tomorrow?

I am begin to fear the worse for ITV Regional News after the latest news that Coronation Street and Emmerdale could be affected.
