It's difficult to take seriously someone who was duped for so long by an obvious imposter in Metropol.
But by the look of your photograph you appear to be 12 years of age - yet you still pine for the good old days of regional news.
How sad.

Are you trying to insult Hyma by saying he looks younger than he is?

<snip> and for it to concentrate on ITV1 and not its other channels.

That is one thing that is VERY unlikely to happen. Whilst ITV1 is inevitably losing share as the multichannel fragmentation continues - ITV2-4 are building stronger profiles. If anything ITV should be investing more - as with a strong portfolio of channels appealing to very distinct demographics, they are able to sell much more desirable advertising slots.

Remember - not all viewers are equal. If you are a high-spending professional - a channel that you watch is very important to some advertisers (airlines, high-end consumer electronics, watches etc.) whereas if you are a busy mum on a limited income, a different set of advertisers want to sell you stuff (budget supermarkets, savings schemes etc.) You need to have channels that pull in both audiences - not just one. Trying to make shows that will pull in both at the same time is increasingly tricky as there is expanding choice in the market.

Trying to make one channel the be-all and end-all is like trying to be King Canute in this day and age isn't it?

Not really. It's the channels that go for broader audience profiles that are doing best in this market. The more niche channels are the ones falling by the wayside quicker.

Recent casaulties include SportsXchange which was basically all about exchange betting with a few live sports, Overseas Property Channel, and The Fight Network.

So at the moment, broader is better.

You had ample opportunity to announce your namesake was an imposter, but instead you chose to say nothing.

If someone had spoofed my username I would have made it clear to all concerned.

Perhaps you were taking enjoyment from someone trolling an internet board.

Sad?

Well if the cap fits...

and might i add, during the incident, I was on a nice little holiday from metro and on my return it was me who banned him. but once again guru, don't let facts get in the way.

ITV Border at their best tonight with a special 30min Lookaround live from Lockerbie - you only hope that option will still exist when they're subsumed by Gateshead.

And what would be wrong with that? I'm 15, yet still firmly believe that ITV is better as a regional network.

Very sad news about Anglia - whilst Jonathan Wills and Becky Jago are perfectly good presenters - it is very sad that so many familiar and experienced faces are going.

Jonathan Wills - why him over Tim Curtis?

This is probably mentioned somewhere else but I've not noticed it yet. Is there an actual date set for the merger of Tyne Tees and Boredom or is it still just "early 2009"?

Well Tyne Tees' main North presenters leave in February, so March?

I happened to bump into an old friend who works for ITV the other day who mentioned the changes to regional news are planned for February.

When the changes take place, will ITV News get a rebrand?
