Tyne Tees were live from Alnwick Castle tonight, where their is no-one in the studio. Newsreader Kim Inglis has presented her final broadcast, along with long-serving sports presenter and former newsreader Dawn Thewlis. Plus Bob Johnson, a long tribute to Bob, with small mentions of Kim and Dawn leaving too. A new weather presenter is coming in too, a female. A moving programme.

Suprised they allowed a tribute or even a mention of his departure
It is moving. I didn't really realise fully until I saw The Westcountry Tonight and they did a montage of Westward, TSW, Westcountry, Carlton and then showed the ITV Westcountry building with all the lights going out one by one. It really is the end of an era, all that local programming reduced to a 15 minute opt, no more local personalities and non news programmes reduced to the generic Inside Out and Politics Show from the BBC.
Makes financial sense but doesn't stop it being sad.

Its on a case by case basis apparantly and with Bob being well loved it plus they can just make out its retirement not redudancy.

i didn't realise Dawn and Kim were leaving as well, it has to be said its now very close before we say curtains to regional TV on ITV, its really sad as our generation is now seeing the demise of the once great regional structure of ITV.
