Ian Payne was a sports reporter from early 2000's I think until he was promoted to news presenting in 2006. Though I thought they would have went for Kenny Toal, who is a relief presenter at present, Scottish and a former presenter at ITV Border. I assume Jonathan Morrell left around 2 weeks ago with Philippa Tomson last week along with GMTV bulletins presenter Mark Warr, who was gone for a month, but presented last week and is off again..

Ian and Pam for the whole of the the region even the Border region - these are unknowns to border viewers.
So Pip and Jonathan have already left so soon?

Mark Warr has been axed too. Not sure when he'll leave. Shame as he was a solid guy and I'd hardly imagine he's a big earner.

Looks like The Isle of Man has chosen ITV North West - Granada in the Consultation launched following earlier intervention by Ofcom.

Not surprising, I know I wouldn't want to watch a Gateshead based news service in the IoM.

Makes sense I suppose, BBC North West seem to claim the Isle of Man so having ITV Granada would be better suppose, considering the Border-Tyne Tees programme will be from Gateshead and will cover from York to Stranraer, then I doubt the IoM would be much of a priority.
Although BBC NW only has token stories from the IoM, they do have their own dedicated page on the Regional index of Ceefax and Red Button.

Apparently, Border's IoM reporter has defected to BBC North West to become their IoM correspondent.
