Yes it said in the press release that the 18.00 and 22.50 bulletins would be called Wales Tonight. They cannot call the other bulletins Wales Tonight for obvious reasons so have to call them ITV Wales News.
No backdrop of Cardiff Bay in the late bulletin, I wonder if all short bulletins wont feature this and it will just be the 6pm and maybe the lunchtime bulletin

Shame that they didn't update more of the clips in the title sequence, especially as some of them are a bit cliched.
The only two that have changed are... (1) the red-brick Bay building has been replaced by a church, and (2) the valley street has been replaced by a wind-farm.
But both of the "new" images were used subtley in the background of the previous titles, and have merely been promoted to the foreground. Likewise, the Bay building and valley street clips have been relegated to the background. So no actual newly-filmed clips - just rearranging the existing clips.

Rob Shelly presented the lunchtime bulletin today, and they didnt use the Cardiff Bay backdrop. It looks like the short bulletins wont be using it which is a shame. Im sure they also used the old version of the opening titles on the bulletin today.
The weather was presented by Emma Jesson, so it looks like at weekends they will be having the weather from the presenterin Brum instead of a presenter in Cardiff like is now done with Ruth/James during the week.

Terribly cropped mind you.
Are the GMTV Wales bulletins still looking like this? Been happening for weeks, it makes me ill.

I notice this day also that the channel identifier for HTV on Sky has now finally been attacked by propaganda -- the only place left unscathed now is Ceefax.
PS. BBC Wales can't spell 'practice'.

BBC Wales have lost their live link to the Wales Millennium Centre - Sara Edwards didn't look impressed in the slightest.
Also the subtitles on Wales Today have only just appeared at 18:50.
And to add it seems that BBC Wales had more problems with their live link:-

I'm not sure if it was that foggy down 'The Bay' but the weather seemed to change quickly in 20 minutes!
PS - sorry Jez for posting BBC related material in the thread!

She also didn't seem sure where it was Keith Richards later or Cliff Richard.
Perhaps she's more of a Seekers girl.
And I wonder whether our new author would be interesting in taking the 'Tonight' out of the title.
I'm sure special edition penguins can be arranged.
