Cardiff Bay backdrop - such a gimmick, and makes it look very Cardiff-centric, when it's a bulletin for the whole of Wales.
Still, that backdrop looks better than the BBC's, which is no longer live. The WT backdrop is inaccurate now, as the new Assembly building is nearly finished and located right in front of the WT camera (which incidently, has been dismantled).

Well a camera still seems to be used for live interviews with the political reporter on HTV -- you see the assembly building in the foreground and the correct time shows on the Pierhead building.
Mind you on the BBC it never gets dark at the moment -- Jamie seems to manage to halt the sunset [never mind the gull that comes round every half minute or so].

Which background would you have?, as in most if not all regions they show a backdrop of the city they broadcast from its not there on purpouse to be Cardiff-centric.
As for the studio its about time too, a little dissapointed same old regional style studio, hopefully there is more to the studio than what we can see in the image.

Seems strange them using the new studio last night. Missed tonight's edition, so don't know what happened!

Actually very strange for HTV to have a scenic background - don't think they've used one before. I suppose the only alternative was a newsroom background.

Richard presented tonight from the new studio again. They must be taking apart the old studio already!
Actually an update during the evening news last friday at around 6:50pm was actually done in the new studio is well.
I don't see why they can't just use a tiny bit of the old studio until they unveil the new one tomorrow evening. But obviously they wan't to keep viewers in suspense.

Was it? I never watch that update. They might have got rid of the tiny studio as it hasnt been seen AFAIK since Thursday morning's GMTV bulletins, which could be why the late bulletin Thursday and GMTV bulletins Friday came from the large studio.

But did you notice that HTV News was referred to (incorrectly) in that Steve Tucker item and also Lucy's name was Cohen rather than the correct Owen.
Intentional errors on Steve Tucker's behalf or shoddy journalism?
