Speaking of which how rude of them to get rid of Derek's stairs/big screen after all these years -- seem to have been replaced with bog standard dinky bonquette and table like all other English regions [yawn].

Ah yes, but atleast the whole set now matches with one side not looking new and the other a bodged paint job on the old bit! I think it looks quite nice

Lewis Vaughan Jones reported on the top story on ITV Wales News last night. He was very good too - well done Lewis.

Was that the report where he enjoyed a pint of beer?

Thanks.

Where have all the 'older' presenters gone on ITV Wales News? Even though Giles Smith was seen today, there seems to be a whole batch of new younger presenters/reporters (again) :- Lewis Jones, Nathanial Cope, Duncan Golistani, Chirs Perry, Mari-Claire Carey-Jones, Alpa Patel, Rhys Roberts....etc etc. What has happened to the more experienced reporters?

Hmmm.

So, we take six Welsh personalities [John Humphrys, Ron Davies, Sian Lloyd etc] -- plan a death for them, and then write their obituaries for them to read, to see if we liked them or not.

Well it all sounds a bit half hearted really -- mind you who came up with the idea [how worrying].

Lucy Owen presented the national ITV News this lunchtime on ITV1. I hope she will be on later today as well.

Justina did the ITV Wales News bulletin, also nice to see Lewis Vaughan Jones reporting on the England V Wales game.

I haven't seen ITV Wales News for a while now, but is Lucy still with them, as I've seen her a few times on ITV London News in the past few weeks...

Yes she is still with them and presents the main 6pm bulletin and late bulletins a lot. I think she presented the 6pm bulletin last night with Zoe? Could be wrong though as I was only half watching. Zoe definately did the late bulletin last night.

Zoe is used as the main stand in for Lucy at 6pm as Juliet Piper is currently on maturnity leave.

Well after her weekend presenting the national news bulletins on ITV1, Lucy was back in Cardiff today and presented ITV Wales News at 6 with Zoe Thomas.

Yes well never mind that, last Sunday I was getting ready for evening mass when I settled on "Wild About Wales" on HTV.

In this poorly-veiled replacement for BIRDWATCHER, I was confronted with Dee Doody pleasuring a slug.

Now I'm no prude but the fact it would still be there wriggling in sluggy bliss in an hour's time delighted Dee Doody a bit too much for me.

I shan't be watching this again -- it makes killing Sian Lloyd for entertainment seem rather high brow.

We had the first of a series of reports tonight about the history of ITV in Wales. Tonight was mainly about TWW but we will be getting onto Harlech tommorow. Then on Sunday we have an Arfon Haines Davies 1 hour special at half 5- details from Radio Times as follows

"As part of ITV's 50th anniversary celebrations, Arfon Haines-Davies looks back over Welsh television highlights, from the black-and-white days of TWW to the big productions made by Harlech and the output at present. Featuring dramas like Robin of Sherwood, adventure programmes and Oscar-winning documentaries."

Meanwhile I shared my time tonight with ITV Wales and ITV West for their new look "The West Tonight" - I wish ITV Wales would rename their's "Wales Tonight". Confused
