Tonight at 7.30pm on HTV Wales the announcer said that due to conditions beyond their control they couldnt bring us "Wales This Week" Instead we had highlights of Llangollen with Lucy Owen, which was originally scheduled for 11.00pm.

I would have thought they'd have had a news bulletin considering there havent been any regional bulletins since GMTV bulletins this morning (as far as I know). However some of the headlines were going across the bottom of the screen during the regional programme.

Will there be a late update tonight during the ITV News?

What do you mean Jez? "the headlines were going across the bottom of the screen?" - did they have the usual news ticker across a regional programme?

There was no late bulletin within the ITV News at 10:30. But Sir Trev did get cut off at the very end!

Yes thats right, they had the news ticker thing going across the bottom of the screen during the first few minutes of the Llangollen programme.

Zoe Thomas presented the 6pm bulletin yesterday, as well as the late update. She mentioned that Carole Green would be the weekend presenter.

Justina presented GMTV Wales again yesterday morning.

On the 6pm bulletin, reporter Chris Perry did his first live interview, Chris was very good at asking the questions to the guests, and then handing back to Tara and Jon in the studio. Well Done Chris.

Apparently James Wright and Lucy Owen will be up at the Royal Welsh all next week presenting.

Ruth Wignall just appeared on ITV Wales, on Grass Roots at the Royal Welsh Show. ITV Wales also appear to have a building there with their logo on it.

Weather forcast in Wales tonight was presented by Charlie Neil, and she mentioned that James Wright will be at the Royal Welsh Show all week.

Derek's still far better of course.

Can James possibly bring himself to change the towns ever [like everywhere else]. Yawn.

That map is wrong. Pontypridd is further south than indicated on there. Unless Merthyr Tydfil is now known as Pontypridd, of course.

HTV's coverage of the Royal Welsh has been very good this year. The banter between Lucy and Jon was good last night when she said he's need a larger chair after eating all that food - and as the bulletin ended she was grinning to herself.

James seemed very nervous doing the weather live the first few days but was better as the week went on. Id have preferred Charlie Neil though, definately not camp weather man from the bad channel mind.

I am hoping we will get someone different on GMTV bulletins tommorow after Andrew has done the whole week so far. Mind you Justina has been doing the late bulletin this week so I wouldnt bank on it. Where IS Sally, the once regular Friday presenter, when you need her?

Has the BBC press office run out of things to announce? "Popular BBC Wales weather presenter Derek Brockway has revealed that he actually worked for the military before embarking on a career in TV weather forecasting," says their latest press release. ""Most people are surprised to find out that I'm actually a Flight Lieutenant," says Derek. Surprised? We're gobsmacked, Del boy. "I was out in the Falklands in 1993 working for the Met Office and part of our work was for the military." There's more. "Derek first became interested in the weather aged eight, during the drought of 1976. Although being a TV weatherman is a bit different from a Flight Lieutenant in the RAF, there is one thing that the Falklands had that Derek can still enjoy in Wales: the rain. "I like the rain, and there's plenty of it in Wales! No two days are the ever the same and I love telling people to keep their brolly handy or slap on the sun cream!" More follows...

Well now surely this Rosie Swale-Pope business is the longest running story in regional news -- we've been following her since Oct 2003, back when the news had a different name [does she know yet?], and we're still what, half way. Where's Alaska? Anyway, she aimed to have been back by now.

And can we have a break now from James Wright and his increasingly camp outside frippery, toes are being trodden on here -- we'll have Su or Ruth back now please.

Speaking of which how rude of them to get rid of Derek's stairs/big screen after all these years -- seem to have been replaced with bog standard dinky bonquette and table like all other English regions [yawn].
