Well I demand Wales has its own weather presenters -- and why are the place names never changed. It wasn't that long ago HTV had three presenters and did the random Out+About towns each day.

Mind you Derek doesn't have a stand in either like most other regions [well I mean who could].

Su sent me a fax this morning [she's very technological] saying she's apprehensive about returning to the HTV weather since, unlike last time, there's no Wales thread to touch base with, and she's completely lost her bearings.

Why has the GMTV Wales map been shifted across now to show the weather in Birmingham?

But that was in the days when HTV *was* HTV.

Well technically the weather is now part of ITV Wales News program so there *IS* a thread to touch base with, this one Wink So no excuses for her not to put in an appearance. Very Happy

Well I still think it's rude. And anyway, if I'm to believe the propaganda all that's changed is the on-screen name.

Meridian, Anglia, TTTV, Westcountry etc have still managed to keep local presenters/features.

The pollen count is due to return in a couple of weeks -- mind you what with the pollen being particularly high this year already perhaps it'll be here on Monday. I daresay new [bland] graphics to replace the GMG/Carlton ones.

A couple of other Su pics from the dragon archive, when the weather still had a bit of personality ~

Justina Simpson presented GMTV bulletins this morning, but Andrew Jones turned up for the lunchtime bulletin, unusual for him to do lunchtimes and NOT GMTV.

Well TTTV have the north weather team from Leeds dont they? And dont Anglia get Becky from the National Team? Its unusual for regions to have their own weather presenter not shared with another region - although Meridian have Gemma.

Wales of course do have their own weather presenter but she is on leave atm so clearly Charlie and Emma are the replacements. I dont see why you say the weather has no personality? Emma and Charlie are superb presenters.

Oh yes, but they're not really allowed to show much of their personality now with the restrictively bland graphics.

TTTV have Bob through the week -- who picks a weather village, changes the towns on the map [*novelty*], and various other Derek-esque additions.

Meridian also have Carl Tyler, and Anglia/Westcountry have two or three of their own presenters.

I'm afraid young Jez, ITV Wales are indefensible.

I dont care if BBC Wales weather is better than ITV Wales, im not watching THAT programme. Wink

Phillipa Meaken presented bulletins this Bank Holiday Monday, and she announced that Justina will present GMTV bulletins tommorow! Very Happy

Just thought id attempt to resurrect this thread about all things HTV/ITV Wales.

We appear to have got some of our Sunday afternoon regional programmes back on HTV, apart from Waterfront at lunchtimes we have a repeat of Fishlocks Wild Tracks at 5.25pm and a new gardening series at 5.55pm. These are opt outs from the network.

EDIT: Tonights program was very good, Jon was back today, he and Lucy were on top form. That irish sports reporter also appeared doing a report in-vision tonight.

Well you might like to know Rhodri Davies has apparently had another baby -- joining Juliet Piper, Ruth Dodsworth and Jonathan Hill [though I'm certain they're not connected].

At present however, Lucy is content with some new patio chairs.

Hmmm. I can think of a solution.

To start us off, Derek has brought us a map I've never seen before -- it's even sunny in Port Talbot.

Hmmm. I live in Neath not Port Talbot Rolling Eyes

Well not being a BBC Wales viewer ive never seen that map either. Wink Why not post some captures of Lucy instead, she is much nicer.

Anyway, at the end of Bad Girls tonight on 1 Wales Sue promoted the regional programs which are airing after the news, there was no ECP. I think Wales announcers should do their own announcements at the end of all programs, they might as well since we have our own announcers still, it would be much better than the increasingly annoying ECP's from the national team. Oh don't call it that, it's terribly annoying when she does that. If it's not that it's "IT1 Wales" -- not to mention starting every anno with "hmmmmmmm". Please.

If Lucy does anything remarkable I may post a capture.

Meantime, am I permitted to post Derek's new weather graphics when they start next week?

No, id rather live in Cardiff or Manchester. But Neath is better than Swansea or stinking Port Talbot.

Least we still have an announcer on HTV who has been there for 20 years +, most people would love to have their old regional announcers back on the English regions. So dont be grumpy now. Rolling Eyes

Lucy is always remarkable. How rude of you to suggest otherwise.

No. Although I may consider it if you post some Lucy captures as well. Smile

Tell you what I promise not to call it 1 Wales ever again if you post some Lucy captures?
