Great edition of ITV Wales News tonight. In preparation for the big match tommorow ITV Wales had a party in Cardiff and much of the programme came from there, including reports from Justina Simpson (god she was only on morning bulletins yesterday) and Richard Morgan and the weather even came from there tonight (they let Ruth out for the day!). Lots of other presenters were seen there including Lucy, Tara and Phillipa. A brilliant programme well done ITV Wales - although I think Jon wished he was there not stuck in the studio!

I cant wait for tommorow - come on WALES, You can do it! Very Happy

Yes, Jez, it was something a bit different! It was great to see Ruth Wignal present her first live weather - I know James Wright (I remembered! lol) has presented live weather bulletins in the past but not Ruth?

Wales you can do it!
PS - Surely the combination programme on BBC1 Wales and BBC1 Ireland was a bit strange as the programme couldnt be biased towards either side - whereas ITV Wales was totally behind the Welsh side!

No I dont think Ruth has done the weather live before, but she is used to doing live items as she read the news for year before moving to the weather dept.

Didnt see what BBC Wales did. But yes nice to see ITV Wales giving their full support!

I wonder if Justina will present the weekend bulletins?

Ive read in other threads that some regions have made announcements of who will anchor the new extended regional bulletin at lunchtimes. Has anyone heard who will present the bulletin for ITV Wales? Please let it not be Andrew Jones (he HAS improved a bit but not enough), I do hope its Lucy Owen, Zoe Thomas or Justina Simpson, they are my fave presenters now.

I don't think any announcements have been made - there have just been rumours/leaks regarding a couple of regions from a certain member of this forum.

I was viewing ITV Wales News via Sky (I live in Meridian) and when we zoomed in on Wales, the picture went all blocky & pink, but once the squares started to turn over, it was fine! This also happened last night on Lookaround... It is not windy at all here, neither do I live anywhere near a busy road. Confused

Any news yet on who will present the ITV Wales Lunchtime bulletin from 11th April?

Also does Andrew Jones never get a day off? He presented morning bulletins Monday-Wednesday last week like usual and then was on over the long weekend and is now on morning bulletins this week as well. Emma Jesson did the weather all weekend and yesterday, however Ruth did the weather on itv wales today.

Lucy and Jon are off this week so Tara and Steve have been presenting the 6pm bulletin.

Zoe Thomas is presenting the ITV Wales bulletins this weekend -nice to see her back after a while of just doing reports, she is a superb at doing newsreading and reporting.

Well as we all know tommorow there are some changes to ITV Wales News, in line with the ITV News relaunching their lunchtime bulletin. The mid afternoon bulletin, which has been there for years, is going and we are getting a longer lunchtime bulletin. I wonder if this will lead to presenter changes? The weather forcast is apparently being kept at 3.30pm but what will happen to Crimestoppers and the Community Messages?

Its been reported in the ITV Wales Annual Statement there will be a new look for the news this year so could this happen tommorow? I dont think anything was mentioned on Friday, but would they give us any warning? Guess we will have to wait and see.

Lucy Owen is going to present the ITV Wales Lunchtime bulletin! Very Happy

EDIT: It also looks like the new home for Crimestoppers on ITV Wales is straight after the 10.55am bulletin.

Wales is getting its own edition of the Radio Times from tomorrow.

West listings are being merged with the South and South West edition.

Speaking of Radio Times...

In the Midlands edition (and, presumably, any other edition in which Wales and/or West is in the "regional variations" column), it always mentions: ITV1 West News and ITV1 Wales News Shocked

Has nobody told them that "1" does not feature in the names of those news programmes? Rolling Eyes

Presumably, in the actual Wales and/or West edition(s) of RT, they don't erronously include a "1" in the news title?

In the Wales version of the Radio Times it has ITV Wales News down for the main 6pm programme, but for some of the smaller bulletins they just list it as "Wales News".
