On which platform does it state that TVD?

My annoyance on NTL is that every regional news bulletin on the EPG states ITV 1 Wales News! Nowhere else is the extra '1' added and I just dont see why NTL insist on adding this extra '1'!

Happy New Year Smile

The info bar is on normal terrestrial telly box -- the info bar which comes up when I change channels continued to shout "HTV WALES" until today.

Sky also adds the '1' in the local news name, same for Digiguide -- must be a standard mistake replicated everywhere.

Not a good start for the anti-propaganda movement, but I sense 2005 will bring revolution.

PS> I haven't received a chocolate orange from young Jez -- shall I ring the post office and complain?

Well now I noticed this day that the info bar I get when I press button 3 -- through some act of transmitter vandalism, now rather uglily reads "itv1 WALES" -- so I promptly tuned the station out of my tv.

The 600 pages have also been discontinued [as prophecied here] -- and the only place now to find HTV anywhere is on S4C and, ironicially, ceefax.

At least you get the "WALES" bit over that side of the bridge, Draig; over here we just get "itv1" and nothing more, regardless of which region we're in.

That station identification was picked up from the header of the 600 series teletext (small t) magazine, so the identification change and the demise of the 600 series pages is one and the same change.

You want to get Sky. Channel 103 is STILL called ITV1 HTV West here; and I see ITV1 HTV Wales still exists for those of you on Sky over your side of the water.

Well now sometimes Mr Harvey, when I was bulk-buying Fishlock's Wild Tracks merchandise, I'd see the 600 pages were headed with 'ITV Wales', but the info bar continued to put its fingers in its ears and disagree.

It's all v ugly isn't it. And no more blocky red dragon to introduce those vital transmitter repairs. How sad.

Mind you apart from the BBC my terrestrial picture is often quite shocking -- so yes we have Sky at Dragon Towers.

Yes, for some odd reason, when they updated the bit of the header data to change the top line of the displayed teletext page to "ITV WHATEVER", they didn't change the other (different) bit of the data which gives the superimposed station identification over the normal picture when you change channels.

I SUSPECT that whoever did the first change didn't realise that there are two different bits of header data doing slightly different jobs.

I suppose we can't expect all these experts to have a copy of "Specifications of Standards for Broadcast Teletext Signals" from IBA Technical Reference Book number 2, third edition, dated May 1977 on the shelf in front of them!

Ive noticed that too Owan, very odd why they do that when the programme is called ITV Wales News. Anyway, looks like there are no ITV Wales News bulletins this New Years Day, Lucy did the lunch and teatime bulletins yesterday and wished us all a Happy New Year at the end of the final 2004 bulletin .

Well ok, so none of us used it much. But I mean it was reassuring to just know it was there -- like post offices or in-vision continuity.

Mind you won't somebody think of the dragon -- I insist it's found a good home.

Well now I've just seen Rhodri Davies on the foreign channel as their new lifestyle reporter now the other Rhodri left [not the Rhodri who does animal hospital, or the one who married Lucy Cohen, or tv's Rhodri Morgan].

Ummm. Isn't moving there a bit of a downward step?

To be honest I didn't stay long cos I wanted to watch the cat programme -- he sounded the same to me, so yes.

Mind you I wonder how long it takes till he starts calling Angharad 'Suzy'.

Bring back Roy Noble.
