I watched part of ITV Wales News tonight, and the astons arnt animating? Anyone know why.

I also watched it tonight and the live astons WERE animating!

They only use the animation when there is a live report and the graphic has to change between live and the person's name. Therefore if it is just a person's name the graphic is faded in and out without the ITV News style animation!

Also did anyone notice yesterday that we got to see ITV West News headlines at 18:50 rather than the ITV Wales News headlines?

And whilst I'm at it - why was the female announcer tonight talking about Crime Secrets on at 23:00 tonight when the text onscreen was stating When Jordan Met Peter at 23:00? Surely it can't be that hard to change a bit of text?

Well now it seems to be something of a Wiggy spectacular this month.

Great Welsh Cafes
HTV, Monday - Friday at 2.30pm

unnecessarily lengthy episode summaries at:

Mind you note the random Granada people *still* at the top.

Meanwhile I simply can't wait to read details about this special HTV christmas programme when I get the Radio Times tomorrow [will it have a corrie cover?].

Great to see Wiggy back on ITV Wales again, he's become quite a regular recently, while other old school like Dilwyn and Nicola have gone. Isnt this HTV Special meant to be in the 5.30pm slot? A first since 1999. We all know that the TV Times and Radio Times have non programme covers at Xmas Razz

Justina Simpson is on the ITV Wales News this weekend Very Happy

Well I'm not buying it then.

What's the 1999 thing you're referring to young Jez, Nuts and Bolts? Surely one-off things are at 5.30 all the time at weekends and holidays.

Mind you I demand Nicola defects from the BBC to co-present this christmas special -- this will then serve as proof that regional output is what christmas is designed for [apart from arguments] and convince London fascists to leave it alone.

Oh yeah I forgot that HTV opted out to show Nuts and Bolts at 5.30pm in 2002. It was shown at 7pm IIRC in 1999 and 2000. But the last time they regularly had a regional slot at 5.30pm was around 1999/2000.

I wonder who will be presenting GMTV bulletins tommorow? Laughing

Awww, I knew HTV couldn't let us off without a christmas lights competition.

I'm certain young Jez's house would beat last year's winner that Catharine visited.

Meanwhile Derek's christmas pictures started last week over on Wales on 1, and going by the unknown woman on yesterday night BBC Wales have started their bring-random-people-off-the-street christmas presenters thing already.

Oh it would, is the prize a hamper of penguins and chocolate oranges again? Im sure my sister's house would win, perhaps Sam Lloyd can report live there for the second time this year.

It seems that ITV Wales News has adopted another feature from the ITV News Channel. First it was the astons animating :-

http://members.lycos.co.uk/ohwhatanight/itvwalesnewsgraphic1.JPG

Now they have their own news ticker aswell :-

The font size is marginally bigger than the ITV News Channel but is much easier to read!

Well now there do seem to be some particularly thrilling additions to the christmas schedule this year -- Good Afternoon Wales surely can't be missed.

Anyway since the two HTV news programmes shared the top story tonight, I made myself unclean and saw a bit of the west tonight -- and mother of god somehow they got this year's RTS thingyo. Mr Harvey demands enquiry.

Mind you perhaps it's because Ms Doily's place seemingly now has absolutely no furniture to put an award on.

I demand an enquiry!

You were down on the rosta to be the viewer on December the 18th, NOT the 8th.

Now you've had to endure the full half hour of it, rather than the ten minute Saturday version.

Merry Christmas.

ITV Wales Assembly storm Dec 14 2004
Martin Shipton, Western Mail

AN ASTONISHING row has broken out between the National Assembly and ITV Wales after programme makers were accused of colluding with the campaign group Fathers 4 Justice.

Tonight the Welsh language current affairs programme Y Byd ar Bedwar, which is made by ITV Wales for S4C, will screen footage that raises serious questions about the way matters were handled after the Fathers 4 Justice campaigners began their protest.

Y Byd ar Bedwar goes out on S4C at 8.25pm tonight.

Just out of interest who is this programme credited to now? Is it credited to 'HTV Cymru' or is it ITV Wales or even ITV Cymru? (probably not that one)
