I have set up this thread for discussion on ITV Wales News and regional programmes, as people don’t seem to be posting about ITV1 Wales in the Wales Thread any longer.

Yesterday ITV Wales News was presented by Carole Green, she had done the weekend bulletins a number of times now and has improved a lot IMO, she wished us all a nice weekend Very Happy She is back with today's bulletins too I believe.

Due to the F1 Coverage we have fewer regional programmes today than we normally get on a Sunday. We have Waterfront with Jo Kiernan at 3.05pm which is actually an opt out of the network programme, and then Coast to Coast at 5.45pm, this week Mike Parker is going from Fairborne to Aberystwyth.

Also later this week on ITV1 Wales we have a new series of The Ferret which is Wednesday at 11pm, and on Thursday at 7.30pm, in-line with other ITV regions, ITV Wales has “Wales on the Move” – a campaign to promote a healthier lifestyle for the people of Wales.

Yes, Waterfront which is normally on Sunday’s at 12noon, but today its at 3.05pm due to the F1 coverage. Its presented by Jo Kiernan, a former HTV Newsreader, live from Cardiff Bay.

Usually at 12:00 midday there is Waterfront then followed by Soccer Sunday at 12:30.

Im VERY surprised that the political programme takes precedent over a football programme - because whenever there is the F1 on ITV1 Soccer Sunday is dropped in favour for Waterfront.

From a financial point of view surely a sponsored programme, (Soccer Sunday) which will actually gain some viewers, is preferable to a political type programme in the remaining slot at 12:00?

Maybe ITV isnt putting profits before PSB broadcasting after all?

Do all regions have one, I know Border have 'Taking Sides' on a Friday night.

But no other region is showing Soccer Sunday today either. In fact, Wales are opting out of network programming for Waterfront.

Are you the same Jez who ran away from the aforesaid Wales thread because you couldn't take the pressure ? I woyld have thought that a " Gay Corrie " thread ( no Corrie not Collie Jez ) was more up your street .
Has your mother been given her pliers back yet ? Confused

It was nice to see a familiar face behind the newsdesk on ITV Wales this weekend. Its Catharine Evan-Williams , she looks well too and was really good giving all those sports results in the 5pm bulletin!

Ive also noticed she introduces her bulletins in the old school style i.e. Good Afternoon, now the headlines from ITV Wales News. The majority of the others just say "Good Afternoon" and then away they go with the news.

I don't want to make enemies, but i really don't see the point of Wales having regional continuity anymore, given that ITV1 England doesn't. Any reasons?

Has anyone noticed that Catharine Evan-Williams has done the weekend bulletins most weekends since she came back to ITV Wales News. Maybe she is to be the permanent weekend presenter.
