ITV Wales to get new news studio

Ooh, studio looks very nice there - although I hope they're not planning on using the backdrops in the video when they go to air, as whilst they look fine in close-ups, they look ridiculous in wides!

Here's the last main news programme... final bulletin to come. Andrea Byrne returns to the programme on Monday to present from Cardiff Bay.

Will the theme tune change perhaps? I think it would be appropriate seeing as the name is now Wales at 6 - it only makes sense for the rebranded program to be differed from all the other regions. Something a bit less local sounding might do the program some good - becoming single-headed and stuff...

Question has to be asked, why put a black cloth over the desk? Reflection issues or something else?

Not keen on the backdrop used in those clips - doesn't look great compared to a full height view.

It looks awful compared to a full view and I hope that it isn't what they're going to air with! It looks like they have the screens for it to be a full height view, but not the backdrop! The fact it was part of the preview makes me think that is genuinely what they're going to air with.

To protect the glass top when not in use, I would imagine.

One other thing I didn't like from that promo was the weather being done Granada style in front of the small plasma when that clearly doesn't work. They've got a green screen set up in the studio so use it.
