As some of you may, or may not, already know, it is possible to watch ITV News Programmes online via a certain website (I shall not put up the address for fear of reprisals). Now we all know you can watch BBC News Bulletins online, if I were ITV, I'd start offering News Online in a similar way to BBC News. Surely it be one step towards www.itv.com trying to compete with www.bbc.co.uk which is one of the best websites for news I go to.

will they make more money than it'll cost them to implement?

the answer is probably no. bbc already streams regional news. itv would love to dump regional news, so i can't see them wanting to give it a higher profile.

I hadn't thought about it from the monetary purpose, seeing as they wouldn't gain much from advertising, where as the BBC is paid for by the license fee... I didn't actually know the BBC streamed regional news, I'll have to look into it. A slight complain about the ITV News website is that the cutting isn't exactly brilliant (often adverts etc. at the beginning but the end is cut off). But I suppose it is only really for reference, not for your picky individual like me. Smile

Good thing about the ITV website is you can download the video, useful if you wouldn't mind some of that video (especially the ITV Weekend News) which I have now got. Mind you it does have a translucent ITV1 logo over it tho. Sad

The clock used to be downloadable, it sat on the desktop and clicking it would direct you to the homepage. However, since this design of the site has come in, the link to the clock download page (clicking on the clock) is broken.
