I get confused. I think of a newsroom as the place where all the journos etc. work, and the actual set as the news studio.

I agree with what you are saying but their isn't another thread for general news presentation. So their is a problem their. I think two Newsroom type threads should be made for the website.

One for daily developements, presenters and reporters etc and general questions from members etc. The other being for their presentation and things like that.

A question Andrew, are you a bit, well special? You seem to have no grasp of what TELEVISION was getting at, at all.

Whoops, Sorry Embarassed Very Happy

I agree with that.

On Wales Tonight sometimes the presenters in the studio talk to a reporter live from the newsroom via a screen.

On North East Tonight sometimes they say 'And that's it from us at the newsroom..' which I find confusing. As they are in the studio, not the newsroom.

That's because the nature of the presenter's sentence is in the spirit that he/she is saying "hello" on behalf of the entire news team - not just him/herself - most of whom are in the "newsroom" (the office). Also, I think that "newsroom" could be taken as meaning, say, "this entire ITV building" (as it were), rather than the oh-so-pedantically-specific meaning of being "the office".
