Show me a company that has up to date logos on all its buildings. Metropol 24/7 thrives on threads about Tescos or Morrisons with old logos on their stores!

The BBC?

Perhaps the decision to retain the old branding on the buildings is a commercial one - since it costs money to replace the signage on the side, and well ITV being ITV and liking to be low budget - I am sure you can draw your own conclusions from that.

Maybe now, but the BBC Newcastle studios up until 2004 still had the old logo on it outside, and in 2001 BBC Cumbria still had the logo with the coloured bars on its building. (So not just ITV who are slow, and it was 1997 when the BBC replaced their logo, so seemingly they're the slowest to change)

I'm sure the BBC in Leeds kept the old slanted logo on the old Woodhouse Lane studios for a significant amount of time, at least a few years!

All companies are the same, someone decides to change the logo yet doesn't think about everything that needs changing. The company where I work (and it isn't ITV Laughing ) recently changed the logo, yet we've still got 1000s of letter headed paper and with compliments slips with the old logo on that we are still using as it'd be a huge waste to throw them all away

The BBC in Swansea still has this on the outside of the building

And for what it's worth Culverhouse Cross still has the previous ITV logo outside.

I can't imagine that teal-green plastic cladding would be very much of an improvement though... Laughing Rolling Eyes

OK, I get the message everyone! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I just thought with all the planning that went into ITV's revamp, and the fact that the image change is so public being on TV, they would've thought about the necessary changes to the buildings and sorted the logistics beforehand.

Surely they have at least changed the sineage outside HQ at the London Studios?

PS: "Work of Artifice" - if ITV buy me the spray paint I would happily update the Westcountry building to teal-green for them over a weekend on a voluntary basis! At least then passers-by wouldn't need sunglasses when approaching it from half a mile away! Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Quay Street Studios in Manchester still have the G R A N A D A T V lettering on the building, and it has been there since Day One, which is around 50 Years old now believe it or not, that will be there for some time to come, or at least until Granada consider moving out, which will probably happen within the next decade.

Oxford Road Studios, have the current BBC logo on the building, but this is literally shadowed by the old B B C NW logo, which has permanently burnt onto the building, as I believe it was neon, which was the BBC North West look of the time.

Does anyone know why Scottish TV's current building has a white version of the current logo? I went past it on a cold morning and thought the frost had got to it but I went back on a nicer day and it was still white. It's quite hard to see the white 'scottish tv' text on top of the white background.

I'm still confident that the story about the YTV chevron 'falling off' is a load of baloney. If it were the case, if only ITV had the nostalgic heart to put it back up, to remind us of YTV's chevron. Crying or Very sad

Back on topic, Tyne Tees still have the old ITV Tyne Tees logo on Television House in Gateshead. They showed the outside at TTTV on North East Tonight when it snowed. ITV are so lazy, but Kent House so far as I'm aware is up to date. Typical ITV eh? Rolling Eyes

Yep the regions may be dead on screen, but all the old logos and idents are well and truely alive as it is on my website too Wink

Until they moved out I think... and it said BBC North despite the fact that that name was never used any more.

Yes, that was changed the same week at the relaunch, complete with an illuminated ITV logo.
