Seems to have been some technical issues putting out the lunchtime regional news in the Central, Granada, Tyne Tees and Yorkshire regions this afternoon resulting in grey or black screens and then towards the end of the slot London Today was simulcast.

EDIT: According to a couple of Twitter feeds they've had a power cut at ITV's Leeds studios which took out all the Northern controlled stations.

I thought it would have been the Weather that'd have caused this, we've had Thunder and bad rain on this side of the Pennines, can't say for Yorkshire though.

Apparently London Today was shown for some viewers.

It's a shame we never got to see the generic "ITV News" regional titles like the last regional news problem. Did anyone manage to capture the event? If so could they post images.

ITV Central say the power outage at Yorkshire has been resolved, so hopefully it will hold for 18:00.

Obviously it's been resolved, as we have 'Central Tonight' as usual being pointlessly broadcast to the Westcountry on ITV1 HD.

Would have loved to have seen this:
Power cut takes out all northern itv regions. Very stressful. Calendar may be in the woolpack tonight. I jest not!

Thought Central had moved down South sometime back? (HTV replacing Central at Leeds!)

How come they changed back?

Why can't STC handle all stations south of Brum & NTC handle northern stations plus the STV / UTV feeds?

Because they would have built it for just the southern regions. There would be no reason why they couldn't handle the northern ones too but then I suspect someone would ask why the whole country's ITV couldn't just come out of Chiswick?

Central South moved to STC when the Thames Valley news service launched, and now that's regarded as part of the Meridian region (although ads still sold as Central).

The rest of Central has been at Leeds since Birmingham TX closed. Similarly HTV has been at STC since it moved from Cardiff (2003?).

A little collage of images from the brief report on the power cut on ITV Yorkshire last night - taken from the ITV Yorkshire website.

I like the notice on the door - a "warning without warning"!

Though of course there is still a part of Central today with the STC and that's the part of Central West that was formerly with the South at Ridge Hill (Officially Herefordshire, Unofficially Gloucestershire) Presumably this was the only part of the Central region that got to see the bulletin?
