ITV Regional News Graphics Update

It looks like ITV Regional news have had an updated graphics package. Headline and Name straps animate much faster, slightly changed competition board, and a new location strap for lives.

I have seen these in Central West and Wales only so far. London has their own versions as usual.

Is this from today? I know Scotland Today are getting a new look this month but I have no idea if it'll be in ITV-style or not.

I noticed it yesterday, but thought it was just done by Wales, until I saw Central West. Strange if there was changes made to the network, they wasn't rebuilt properly for London Tonight.

I think Wales must be one of the last Regions to get the new graphics. ITV have invested alot of money and new technology to all of their Newsrooms, most Regions have had this upgrade, with the upgrade the new graphics came along, they've been doing this since 2004, the easiest way you could tell was the smooth animation, and the 4 aquare DOG used to flash up when a caption came on screen.

London got it when they moved to ITN in 2004, Meridian and Tyne Tees got it when they moved into their new Studios, and every other region has just updated whenever, Granada had theirs about April 2005..

Not too sure if you know what I mean, I am not talking about tecnhical upgrades to animating astons, im talking about changes to the current setup. They animated before, but they are animating faster now, plus a new live location strap which is black and sits under a name strap on the right.

I think the only ITV regions with non-animating astons are Border and Westcountry. ITV West began broadcasting with animating astons since Monday.
