So then, another re-launch, another set change. It's all due to come into force this Autumn/Winter.
Another £xxxxxx spent on re-branding what is an un-recognisable brand.
Interesting fact at a recent ITV Focus Forum. Sky News, BBC News 24, CNN, Fox News Logo's we're put before the group. The one brand that came out worse was......ITV. Not many people could recognise the company from those 4 dull squares.
Watch this space, it WILL change before the end of the year.

Where did you hear this?

Well it's already public knowledge that ITV will be unveiling new identities for its channels this autumn.

How this affects news (national and regional) is another question.

I suppose it would make sense for the news channels to "go with the flow" so to speak, but it survived the last rebranding, so why shouldnt it survive the next?

Intresting so are ITV News keping the theatre of News and changing the background or just getting a new studio all together?
I also assume they will change the Titles which i will miss as i think the Titles are quite good.

possibly, and i bet many hope, that if ITV rebranded, they might use the ITN atrium as their background!!!!!!!!!!!

Perhaps they could sort out the content of the programme(s) as well.

I want to know why they're changing the channel identities. They only changed last year!

Nobody knows what they are doing. There was a magazine article months ago that said a new marketing person had been apointed and that they were going to introduce a new identity. Nothing else has been said since, the idea may even have been dropped!

It won't stop the rumours starting and the asumptions being made just like what is going on with the Sky News relaunch

Actually I think there was certainly a bit more substance to the rumours than that. IIRC, the latest news was that BBC Broadcast were bidding for the contract/had won the contract to design a new look for ITV. Another article said that the familiar blue and yellow logo was to be ditched, around the time of the network's 50th anniversary.

And as the 'theatre of news' wall is basically 'the set' will it be going ?

Not necessarily; I think we're all jumping ahead of the gun.
