Just for the hell of it - here is my ideal rota.

Why have we suddenly changed the lunchtime and weekend evening programmes to double headed? Certainly no need for the weekend to have two people. Geriant hasn't done presenting for years now iirc? I'm sure he hasn't done it in the current era and can't even recall him in the yellow car park era?
Is Natasha still apart of the presenting line up- can't remember last time she was on the news? Charlene & James are certainly the main relief presenters ATM. Can't see ITN going for a female doubled headed as a regular thing or for Nina to host all three national programmes in one day- that's only ever done in emergencies.

Also I don't think totally fantasy rotas are what this is about- I do think discussing the presenting is a topic but more on track discussion about what's actually happening?

Well it was just for the hell of it. I thought that it would be better to utilise more presenters. It was just for kicks. Not realistic I am aware.

Exactly, and as much as such stuff should be kept out of this thread removing the evidence is rather childish.

The only change ITV arguably need to make is having a regular weekend presenter, even if it's just on the Saturday. And frankly as they've coped without one for a number of years now it's hardly an issue. Indeed the last time I remember a Weekend presenter being announced is when Andrea Catherwood, Bill Neely and I think James Mates were announced as the three who would be doing it on a job-share basis, so that is back in the theatre of news days.

P.S. How the hell is it a good idea to "utilise more presenters". In the real world any news organisation is trying it's best to use less, not more and ITV would rather go down to 3 per day rather than 6. One hosting the Lunch and 6.30pm, another hosting 6.30pm and 10pm and one more hosting the 10pm (and possibly London Tonight at 6pm). With the breakfast shift ITV could cover all national and London bulletins with just 4 presenters a day.

I don't really see the issue to be honest. It's been done before and there's no harm done. Perhaps you shouldn't take it so seriously seeing as ASO isn't...

Let's not forget that this thread was created to remove the rubbish from the other thread. It's a rota thread so it ain't gonna get any worse than it already was.

I think this discussion should end here though before it gets really out of hand and the mods step in...

I've not seen Geraint Vincent present ITV news since the 24th of December, to be precise. Wink

Please don't do that again.

Didn't there used to be a special list of rules above the post box on rota threads that specifically said "No fantasy rotas"?

Clearly was before my time. I'm very sorry. I didn't actually expect any response at all to it so I am sorry.

It was definitely in the Beta version of the current look; it mustn't have come over with the change (which happened before you joined). I don't think it's stated anywhere else, so it's not a surprise you didn't know.

Other explanation would be that I've not really posted in a rota thread much. Anyway, sorry if I upset anyone Embarassed

To get this back to a discussion point rather than debate over fantasy rotas!
I do think a regular weekend presenter may be good but I think we may start getting to that, with Charlene & James now appearing as the main relief, they can fill in where necessary on the main bulletins (6:30 & Ten) aswell hosting the lunchtime news and the weekend evening bulletins- which is kind of what we are already seeing.

That's got to be a massive blow- she was very hot on the operation Yewtree stuff and the Woolwich stabbing
