Someone presents breakfast/lunch on Saturday and Sunday, staying on for ITV News London on Sunday evening.

There doesn't seem to be any desire for a regular Saturday host for some reason - perhaps freelancers and randoms just work out cheaper for them, but I'd have thought just having a regular host attached at least to the Saturday bulletins (and continuing to use the more senior presenters on Sunday nights) would work well for them.

Do they have the same host from 8.25am through to the late evening bulletin, or does one do breakfast/lunch and then someone else do the main bulletins?

The early and lunch bulletins are done by one presenter, usually one within the GMB London roster, Faye Barker, Sacha Williams, Lucrezia extra and then the London, evening and late bulletins are presented by other newscasters

Saturday is the day of the week where people are least interested in news, so it makes sense not to spend too much money and resources on them by having a permanent presenter. Sundays are more high profile especially when they follow on from major programming like Downton Abbey etc.

The same thoughts seem to go through the heads of those who plan the BBC News at weekends as well.

I don't understand why. She, like Andrea Byrne is nothing special, IMO. People like Sascha Williams and Faye Barker seem to be overlooked - which I find odd.

Andrea Byrne is the newscaster equivalent of a solid radio jock such as Richard Allinson on Radio 2, perfectly capable of presenting, but there isn't much else there. Philippa Tomson is also another example of this style of generic delivery, which is probably why she didn't get a permanent gig on Sky News and ended up freelancing.

This is almost a rota question, but which London bulletins are presented by the duty network newsreader, is it just weekday lunchtimes?

Yes, the lunchtime bulletin presenter on weekdays – and you also may know that the evening presenter on weekends presents London’s teatime bulletin.

Only on Saturdays, is it not? The national lunchtime presenter stays on for ITV News London on Sundays.

Wonder why it's different for Sunday & Saturday? Didn't it used to be both days- why change?

Does that mean on Sundays the same presenter does the 8:25am bulletin, lunchtime and the evening regional news at 6:20pm?

News is generally more comprehensive and done by a senior presenter on a Sunday so they probably wouldn't be wanting to bother with a regional one first, whereas on Saturdays there is less going on.

Yes, normally from the ITV News London pool. Saturday if you watch the London bulletin seeing the likes of Lucy Meacock and Kylie Pentelow presenting who normally work elsewhere in the country is a bit surreal.
