During tonights Evening News promo, during the Local News, Alistair said "So join me and Mary Nightingale at 6.30" even though Julie presented, was that just a mistake or did Mary take ill or something?

I'm pretty sure he said 'Join me and Julie Etchingham' on the ITV News Anglia version.

On Lookaround, I am positive he said Mary Nightingale. ;/


He definitely said Julie on promo shown on ITV Channel TV.

Surely now would be a good time for a re-jig of correspondents and editors, merging together the teams of ITV News and Daybreak. They both already share some correspondents.

Bringing Daybreak under control of ITV News with ITV Studios providing features, showbiz etc might be what saves the show.

Sharon Thomas presented ITV News London instead of Mary Nightingale who presented the evening national bulletin, despite on Saturdays being rostered to the evening national presenter.

Sangeeta Kandola was on the lunchtime bully.

It's not really Saturday though is it. It's Christmas schedules.

Mary Nightingale wouldn't be on on a Saturday normally.

Not necessarily, Steve Scott has done a Saturday before. I even think Mary has done a Saturday in the past...

Fair enough, although seems odd for the quietest Saturday of the year to have three presenters covering the national and London bulletins.

Steve Scott presented London and ITV News together yesterday evening.
