When did Matt Teale start on Sky News doing the Sports News?

Since about 2010, but as he's freelance, his shifts are a bit over the place.

Good grief, he must get around a bit, in between ITV, Sky and BFBS...

I'm sorry but if Charlene White presented ITV News at Ten, the programme would lose all credibility imo. She's no way near good enough and has no journalistic authority whatsoever. I wouldn't mind seeing Faye on the nationals though a good newscaster in my view.

Personally I'd like to see Matt Barbet utilised more on ITV News, he's an excellent journalist and is a brilliant anchor perhaps also give Ranvir a chance and use them at weekends and on the 1:30 occasionally as well as the main evening bulletins when the main presenters are away. They could both he main anchors of the future I think.

I'd really like to see more of Chris Ship on the main programmes. IMO he trumps Tom Bradby in his roles as Dep. Political Editor and newscaster.
Rageh Omaar is not newscaster material, he is one of many correspondents (not just at ITV) who should stick to reporting, which he is obviously very good at.
Other ITV reporters I'd like to see have a go at presenting (maybe just weekend bulletins though) are Carl Dinnen - he did some presenting at Channel 4, didn't he? Debi Edward - not the best presenter when at STV, but she did improve. Also, as someone mentioned, Ranvir Singh - with Matt Barbet getting more exposure (presenting, of course.) Wink

I know it's a personal opinion, but I totally disagree with ever one of those comments.

We are entitled to our opinions, however.

Since Claire Stewart is now Political Correspondent for ITV News, it would be nice to see her on the weekend national bulletins now and again, as she was very good on North Tonight...

Nonsense, she's a safe pair of hands as Nina's dep on the London bulletin and would be perfectly fine covering one of the double headed national bulletins.

However, I think she has more chance becoming the main presenter of the London bulletin if Nina ever moves on.

From what Claire said on Twitter, she is only helping out at ITV News over the summer.

I agree with all these comments.

I think there are better presenters than Charlene and I think Matt and Ranvir could be future main anchors.

I would like to see more of Lucy Meacock.

A "Safe pair of hands" as a deputy on regional news isn't good enough to be one of the main stand in's for the 6.30 or News at Ten. Charlene White for me is an average presenter who is pretty dull and because she is an ITN contractor she is on LT and the odd low-key national programme. She would be just a scrambler weekend bulletin presenter every other weekend if she was at any other region.

I think people are getting abit OTT here Charlene was very good on the news at 5:30 she coped with it very well and yes it's not news at ten but was very capable of handling a 30 minute news bulletin. I mean who says what makes a national news anchor? Many presenters, reporters move through the ranks and quite frankly if there up to the job I think it's good to see whoever move from the local reporter to national news anchor.

Just a normal bulletin tonight with Mary, no one unusual tonight unfortunately.

And in a change from the norm, Mary didn't present ITV News London before hand. Sascha Williams did.
