Alastair did the Lunchtime News, he isn't going to do all three, in normal circumstances.
Steve Scott did the 1:30, 6:30 and News at Ten a couple of weeks ago.

Why are the VO's for non main presenters always softer spoken? It was the same with Matt on Saturday and was the same there just now for Tom...

Tom looks right at home at the desk.

Too stiff IMO.

I'm sure it's just first day nerves. Presenting ITN's flagship news bulletin is going to be daunting first time around, he'll ease up during the week.

Well, Tom was certainly better than expected. Thankfully he didn't sound to robotic when reading of the autocue.

Astonishingly he hasn't improved since his shifts on the News channel 8 years ago. I remember he was anchoring on the day London won the Olympics.

Was probably because they are from a different recording. The normal ones would have been done in one go and chopped up, the non main presenters would be an email to the artist to ask for a record and she'd fire it over asap.

Laura will be presenting next week on News at Ten.

Maybe not the Monday though as its a bank holiday. Thankfully they have sorted the VO for tonight....

Are you sure it's an email? Are you sure the requests aren't delivered by Carrier Pigeon? Do you actually know what ITV do when they need another voiceover done, or are you just making an assumption?

I don't know what ITV do when they need one, but we use an v/o artist for videos and we drop him an email when we need a re-record/new track and get it sent back to us.

I'm sure I read somewhere it was recorded and then fed down the ADSL line.
