Does anyone think Bill Nearly may ever become a main newscaster if so who do you think would succed him as international editor in my view it would be between J-Irvine and R-Moore.

Also is Nina a main presenter on the lunchtime news because I was over on the tv newsroom website and it had her as one , even though Steve scott is appearing more than her.

And finally is Sally Bidolph a political reproter or a newsreporter.

Steve is currently covering for Alastair, Nina doesn't cover for Alastair just like James covered for Katie not Alastair. Rather complicated. Makes sense if Nina just did all week. The same example also applied to Tuesday- romilly covered because steve had sporting duties. Nina was available that day.

why don't they just do it so when Alistair is not avalible, Nina presents those days and someone Like Geriant covers.

Does Nina want to do two shows 5 days a week? They must be quite long days

Currently the male (steve/al) - they are on monday, tuesday and friday, and the female (nina) is on the wednesday and thursday. It is the same pattern as when katie was around.

Has anyone seen Salma Siraj on any ITV News output recently? I recall she used to report occasionally and she also presented and reported on London Tonight, if memory serves. However, I can't remember the last time I saw her on any ITN programme. Has she left?

I thought she was on maternity leave, with Lewis Vaughan-Jones acting as cover. I'm sure someone posted that here a while ago...

No bother, Robert. Wink
AIUI, Rags Martel transferred from Channel 4 News to cover Lewis on London Tonight. Could anyone confirm?

The presenting line-up seems to be rather muddled this week, not sure if it reasoned or not:
Alastair and Mary presenting 6:30 news on Monday
Mark and Julie Presenting 6:30 news on Tuesday - Alastair presented 1:30 news
Mark and Nina Presenting 6:30 news today - Alastair presented 1:30 news and mary is presenting news at ten.

Also with regards to the sunday news, I'm glad that they have decided to bring back a main presenter, there will hopefully be some form of consitency in the coming weeks. Pre nina's maternity leave a while back, she used to be the only presenter to do the weekend news, there was no separate one for Saturday, and one for Sunday. Recently, we have been getting an even mix of Romilly (now on maternity), Andrea, James, Steve - Alongside Chris Ship, and Daisy Mcandrew. In saying that, im glad that Daisy is back to presenting, I rated her quite high when she co-presented with Al back in the teal look.

Im not sure - havent there always been a mix of different presenters on the weekend news? I know Nina used to appear on weekends quite regularly but I remember Geraint, Romilly, Steve also presented those bulletins just as much.

Yes, there was a mix of presenters, but I am more than positive that Nina was the most regular, and presented on both Saturday and Sunday. While she was on her last maternity, Steve was the most regular, and then the brand realignment came into place.

Basically when a presenter appears two weeks running, certain obsessives get it into their head that there is a new policy of using a certain type of presenter and then when another presenter does the bulletin in the third week, there is suddenly uproar on here.
