Historically the weekend presenters have been the main relief presenters for weekdays, but nowadays ITV cover most shifts with presenters of other weekday bulletins, with James Mates and Natasha Kaplinsky thrown into the mix occassionally.

For about a decade now though ITV have generally had a more high profile presenter anchor the Sunday bulletins, and then nobody in particular hosting the Saturday editions.


Come on what doesn't get more high profile then Andrea Bryne on a Saturday! Wink

A pairing that's not been done before I think? And Romilly's first News at Ten? I could be completely wrong.

She's done a News at Ten(30) with Mark before Christmas. If that counts.

Surely it doesn't take that long for Julie to get to Rome. At the end of the 6.30 News Mary said to join Julie and Mark for News at Ten. Perhaps she is stuck at Heathrow

Although the STV announcer clearly mistook Romilly Weeks for Julie Etchingham....

So Julie is back in the UK, from what I gather if her flight wasn't delayed she would have made it onto News at Ten.

She's back on News at Ten tonight. Her attempt to get to Rome must have been aborted. Makes sense as there's nothing new to add to the story until the 28th.

Ive noticed that rather than various other presenters covering for the main 4 presenters, they tend to cover each others bulletins e.g. on Friday Mary and Alistair did News At Ten in place of Julie and Mark. Natasha and James seem to be the main replacement presenters on weekdays when one of the main 4 arent there.

On weekends on Saturdays it seems to be a rota of Andrea, Lucy, Chris and Steve and on Sundays it seems to be Natasha, James or one of the main 4 presenters.

Ive not seen Geraint present this year, is he no longer presenting the news?
