I don't see much of a difference between 'Senior Political Correspondent' and 'Deputy Political Editor', both means his 'boss' is still Tom Bradby and he is still senior to any other Political Correspondents?

With Tom Bradby doing his TV show it looks better to have Chris reporting as a deputy editor compared to a senior correspondent. Not much difference in role but it just comes across better, it suggests a sense of authority to an audience.

Charlene on the evening weekend bulletin - I wonder if it is late cover. Nice to see her getting more airtime.

Makes a nice change from the usual weekend presenters anyway.

I agree. Nice to see Charlene on the evening bulletins. I guess she didn't present the daytime/London Tonight bulletins today then?

She was on the 9.25 summary this morning so must be cover as by the sound of Charlene's close she'll be on the late bulletin. Sharon Thomas presented London Tonight.

Wow. First bulletin at 0925 this morning?!!! She's doing a Moira!

Alastair Stewart did all the ITN bullys yesterday too. Effortlessly, may I add.

Fantastic to see charlene on the evening news, she really is a credit to itv news and doesn't get used enough. Why they feel the need to bring in andrea, lucy or natasha when they have people like charlene waiting for a bigger role is beyond me.

Charlene did all bulletins today (expect the 5:30) I assume she's late cover. The majority of the weekend daytime bulletins are done by Charlene or Faye Barker, so I don't see why they don't give them the Primetime and more senior shift and then that would give them some sort of continuity as well. I've said it before and I'll say it again Charlene is a more than capable newscaster as is Faye Barker- ITN should use them more.

While we're on subject who at ITN (or any other news company) decides who presents and who's the most senior newscaster etc.?

I'm sure Charlene presented London Tonight all last week too.

Short staffed over the holidays and all, regulars Mark Austin, Steve Scott, James Mates, Nina Hossain away. Mary Nightingale returns next week.

I doubt she'll do the 5:30 News next week then! Or if she does that'll be a good 12 day shift solid!
