Here, I was stating a point, don't agree don't comment! There's a few comments I see and think what the hell are you going on about but I don't belittle, insult or mock people it's just rude! Ignorant specimen!! Mad

if this isn't 'Suitable' where else shall I put it? And what else do you suggest I post about in this thread?

I suggest you stop posting altogether if you don't have anything that users deem interesting to say. Like it or not, one of the main points of a forum is to participate in mutually interesting discussion, and all you seem to do is tell us who is on presenter duties for a little-watched news bulletin - and it's getting very boring.

If this was News at Ten though or some would be up in arms! NaT needs a regular presenter in a regular slot etc. so what's the difference in the 5:30 news?!!

Barely anybody knows the News at 5:30 exists. For many it's merely a listing in a magazine. News at Ten, on the other hand, has a forty-year history and rose to prominence with regular presenting teams and specific faces... Bosanquet, Burnet, Stewart, McDonald... hence the need to maintain a certain kind of familiarity that ITN has long honed. That's why that news programme needs regular presenters. The News at 5:30 can cope with having everybody and anybody present it.

I saw the Morning News a while back and saw that it was Ali Douglas that was doing it. Has she had a bit of work done or has she always looked so 'fake' for use of a better word...

There is others who post rota stuff hence this thread, as I work mon-fri, I don't see the 1:30 unless I catch i online and for the 6:30 I rarely watch as I Usaully catch up on programmes so if I did watch these I might post ratings facts about them too! I don't disagree with your point about 5:30 not needing a single main newscaster! I just sated a fact that some may be interested by!

I can't believe such a nonsense over this tbf! And I don't like what you post so why don't you stop posting!

Why would you need to know who presented a certain bulletin? What do you get out of knowing that Natasha Kaplinsky did the News at 1:30 a few days last week instead of Alastair...? Why is it so important? And why do you keep tallies of how many have presented the 5:30? I'm actually genuinely interested to know why you think it's so interesting, because it isn't really relevant to many.

A rota/presenter thread is, by and large, somewhere to discuss significant anomalies when it comes to presenters of news programmes. Hence the discussion in 2009 when two male presenters co-hosted the 6:30 news, and when Nina Hossain was added into the "select group" of newscasters that did News at Ten in the same year. Oh - and Alastair Stewart's return to News at Ten, again in the same year. This is all significant stuff to discuss, I'd argue.

The 5:30 news can afford to have irregular presenters because of its timeslot and it's prominence (or lack of). So, I'd argue that trying to keep track of who presents it and why so-and-so has only done three is very insignificant. It's not a big bulletin - it's very, very much the opposite - so I can't think why anybody on here needs to know how many editions certain newscasters have presented!

I'll stop posting when I run out of things to say, by the way. Smile

I don't keep a tally about who presented any ITV News bulletin or any other news broadcaster. And who are you to tell me or anyone else what they should discuss, if want to discus the 5:30 news I will or any other bulletin for that matter!

And don't tell me when I should post and when I shouldn't

The point is ELM 2011 is that what you posted wasn't of particular interest and that nobody here thinks it is in any way scandalous for a presenter to take a week or two off - it'll be happening on all bulletins over the next few months. If she was being replaced by someone different every day she was off fair enough, but she isn't and ITV clearly have a rota in place which gives the show more consistency.

You say we'd be "up in arms" if it was News at Ten but the facts are that News at Ten is probably even less consistent with them regularly using faces outside the flagship four.

It's quite a well-known fact that rota threads consist of inane, banal reports of who presented today's bulletin and why they didn't do yesterday's or whatever. Perhaps we should let certain individuals get on with it.

I don't keep a tally about who presented any ITV News bulletin or any other news broadcaster. And who are you to tell me or anyone else what they should discuss, if want to discus the 5:30 news I will or any other bulletin for that matter!

This seems like a tally of sorts to me:

The 5:30 seems to be all over the place at the minute. Faye wasn't on today for some reason. Sangeetas done 10 bulletins since 7th April! compared to Fayes and Charlene's 6 & 5.

I'm getting quite sick of the fact that you're constantly ignoring what I'm saying in my posts, and just taking my questions very personally. As for telling you when to post... when did I do that? I was commenting on the content of your posts, not the frequency with which you're posting.

It's clear you're not able to take criticism - so I'll shut up now whilst I'm ahead. I'm not going to risk being banned from the forum as a result of your incompetence to elaborate properly.

"To be fair" - the same as "To be honest". The equivalent of "Oh my Jesus" versus "Oh my God".

Wondering who'll be on the 5.30 certainly keeps me up at night.
